Wine

B         Fall is always my favorite time.
E         The leaves are changing colors. There’s grapes on the vine.
B         The air gets cooler so people get warmer
F# E   wearing more clothes and holding one another,
B         building our fires and sharing desires.
E         You can taste mine if I can also try yours.
B         I’ll pull out my bottle and pour you a glass.
B F#   We’ll fill up our bellies as we let the cold pass.

B E B
Wine, wine, I want some more wine.
B C#m F#   Pour me another and I’m sure to feel fine.
B E             Red or white, they’re all quite divine.
B D#m        It’s no wonder that Jesus always had a good
B                  time.

B         If I could turn water into a fine wine
E         I’d get drunk from the creeks that trickle and wind
B         and flow into the river, getting ever bigger,
F# E   as it pours into the ocean, this spiritual liquor.
B         I would dance on the surface and dive deep below
E         then drift into the air with the clouds as they grow.
B         When I fall with the rain and land on top of you,
B F#   you can soak through your head this fermented brew.

B E B          Wine, wine, I want some more wine.

B                  time.

B         God, I thank you. You’re incredibly kind
E         for giving us this planet to explore with our mind.
B         When our hearts are open and Love is flowing
F# E   We can solve any problem if we just keep sowing.
B         So to celebrate tonight with family and friends
E         and everybody else who lends a helping hand
B         I’ve got a billion barrels of wine back at my home.
B F#   So come on over. I don’t plan to drink alone.
