Bm                  Water and salt drip from their eyes.

E     Bm           A pain’s in their heart, but that’s no surprise.

E     Bm           In the planes that soar into the sky are the

D  E    Bm       men who said, “Goodbye.”

Bm                  Courage and strength and discipline, too.

E     Bm          And orders to fight ‘til the war is through.

E     Bm          Armed with everything a soldier could use.

D  E    Bm      Who can stop this fuse?

E      G            Behind the smoke where the enemy waits.

C     E             Trying to hide from the tide of Fate.

G     D    E      Drawing a line deep into the sand.

G    D              High above, a warrior dove,

C     E              circles closer in the spirit of

G     D     A     enforcement of peace and liberty.

G      A      Bm

Bm                  What kind of man would devote his life,

E     Bm           poisoning the world with fear and strife,

E     Bm           developing weapons at such a price?

D  E    Bm       Does his heart beat shards of ice?

Bm                  Chemical weapons now are ready to go.

E     Bm           Biologicals and nuclears glow.

E     Bm           If they corner the maniac why wouldn’t he throw

D  E    Bm       a missile to start the show?

E      G            What is the last thought to pass through their mind,

C     E              lying below the sun ‘til they die,

G     D    E      crying tears alone in a foreign land?

G     D             Screams of pain are drowned by a plane,

C     E              dropping bombs that feed the flame,

G     D     A     freezing another’s heart with misery.

G      A     Bm

Bm                  Water and salt drip from their eyes.

E     Bm           There’s a pain in their heart, but that’s no surprise.

E     Bm           For the souls that soar into the sky

D  E    Bm       never said, “Goodbye.”

Bm                  When will we kill the cycle of death?

E     Bm           For hatred grows stronger with every breath.

E     Bm           Vengeance will rule us forever unless

D  E    Bm       we forgive those who trespass.

E     Bm           The water and salt stew may be our best chance

D  E    Bm       to purify who’s left.
