Scarecrow Sam stands silently 

D  A D by the corn patch he's guarding.

D  G D One, two, five crows fly by.

D  A D Into the corn patch they all dive!


G  "Squawk! Squawk!" the crows all squawk

D  A as they tear corn off the stalk.

G  Scarecrow Sam sways in the wind.

A     G A If he could shout he'd scare them.


D  G D "Bah! Bah!" bleats the kidd.

D  A D He'll help Scarecrow Sam rid

D  G D the pesky crows from the corn.

D  A D One, two, Scarecrow Kidd's born!


G  "Raaahhh!" Scarecrow Kidd shouts.

D  A The crows look up but have their doubts.

G  Scarecrow Kidd sways in the wind.

A     G A If he could run he'd scare them.

A  Scarecrow Kidd is my friend. 

G  D He is not scary.

A  Scarecrow Kidd let’s not pretend,

G A D his antics make him funny.


D  G D The kidd pulls Sam out from the ground.

D  A D The scarecrow starts running around.

D  G D "Rah! Rah! That's my corn!

D  A D Don't say I didn't warn!"


G  Into the patch Scarecrow Kidd jumps,

D  A knocking down the corn he bumps.

G  One, two, they all go down.

A     G A The crows all flap and flop all around.


D  G D Squawking loud and panicking.

D  A D They've never seen such a thing!

D  G D The crows flee and fly away.

D  A D Scarecrow Kidd saved the day?


G  That's why now on summer days,

D  A if fresh corn is what you crave. You 

G  won't find it at Scarecrow Sam's.

A     G A Instead of corn they now grow yams.
