E  G  D  A  Barnacle felt a tentacle. An octopus’s arm

E  G  D  A  swaying and squirming. Her body is a charm.

E  G  D  A  Suction-cupped, eight-armed hunter on the prowl for a 

Bm    F#    meal to stay alive. She’s 

Bm    F#    just one year to survive and 

E        lay her eggs.


E    D  E  Octopus put on camouflage to hide herself.

E    D  E  Predators swim all around. She finds a deep-sea shelf. A

A        E  burrow to call her own.

D  A  E  Nature calls her for a great capstone.

G  A  E  Tiny eggs now have a home.

G  D  A    With her final gasp they’re left alone.

E  G  D  A  strong current catches them. Far off they are tossed.
