G    C    G                       God gave us plants so we could breath the air.

D    C    G                       God gave us grain to grind for bread and beer.

Am    C      G  D            God gave us oil to fuel our cars and so we could fly high to the stars.

G    D    G                       God gave us senses so we could change gear.

 

G    C    G                       God gave us hands so we could build what's here.

D    C    G                       God gave us brains so we could think clear.

Am    C      G  D            God gave us fire to keep us warm, so we could weather any storm.

G    D    G                       God gave us touch so we could feel what's dear.

C    D    G                       besides claiming to know who God wants us to spurn?

C           G                      We take and use, waste and lose.  God's creation's got a bruise.

D    C    G                       Do you suppose God feels what we do?

D    C    G                       God gave us light so we could see through fear.

Am    C      G  D            God gave us life se we could know what it's like to feel so.

G    D    G                       God gave us eyes so we might cry some tears.

 

G    C    G                       God gave us mothers so they could give us birth.

D    C    G                       God gave us Mother Earth.  What has more worth?

Am    C      G  D            God gave us the sun to fuel it all, the good, the bad, the big, the small.

G    D    G                       God gave us water, to quench our thirst.
