E                       Sitting Bull      and Geranimo       were sittin'   on a stump

B                       lookin'   across          a clearcut     through the smoke.

E                       "How did things       get so bad," the chief he sadly spoke,

B                       and handed the warrior a peacepipe,       who took a toke.

A  B   E             "The salmon never spawn like they used to long ago,

A  B  C#m  D    "before we signed     the treaties   that the white man always broke."

F#m  B  E          He took back the pipe                   and took another toke.

 

E                       Elvis               and Einstein          were workin'         in a lab.

B                       They knew      a new solution       was close at hand.

E                       The king                   kept on singing      and groovin' to a rockabilly song

B                       as the scientist saw his equations dance along.

A  B   E             But before he could interpret it,    Elvis lost his voice

A  B  C#m  D       and    broke his ankle                so Einstein had no choice          but

F#m  B  E          to say,   "It's all relative,"            and still rejoice.

B                       They heard      the sad love songs and seen friends fall apart.

E                       They helped put them back together       showin' them how it's done,

B                       until one day   the lady had to run.

A  B  E              He went crazy as his whole life     came undone,

A  B  C#m  D       but we all know it's impossible to love only one.

F#m  B  E          He soon          was back               to havin' lots of fun.
